At 1450 hrs Jim Ned VFD was dispatched to the report of a grass fire along Hwy 83 south of Ovalo, TX. Upon arrival it was determined there were multiple grass fire extending south on Hwy 83 from CR 604 towards the community of Bradshaw.
Members of Jim Ned VFD were dispatched to the report of a motor vehicle accident N/B Hwy 83 at Jim Ned Creek. A transport vehicle had drifted of the N/B lane and came to rest in Jim Ned Creek.
During the afternoon of 17 Jun 23, units from View and Jim Ned Volunteer fire departments assisted Buffalo Gap VFD with a single family residence fire, which was started by an ember from a nearby controlled burn, landing on the structures roof.
Members of Jim Ned VFD responded to the report of a vehicle accident at Lemons Gap Road and CR 613. Fortunately there were no serious injuries, although the retrieval of some personal items was necessary.
Members of Jim Ned Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the report of a multi-car accident at the "Y". Upon arrival department personnel assisted the occupants of the two vehicles for minor injuries.
In the afternoon of 2 Mar 23 units were dispatched to a structure fire as the result of a lighting strike. Responding departments included, Buffalo Gap VFD, Jim Ned VFD, Potosi VFD, View VFD, and South Taylor EMS.
While attending the annual "Fire and Ice" fund raiser for our local VFD's Jim Ned VFD was notified of a structure fire just south of Tuscola, TX. Personnel from Jim Ned, Buffalo Gap, and Lawn VFD's promptly responded from the event.
At about 1740 hrs Jim Ned Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the report of thick smoke just east of Hwy 83 and south of CR 175. By the luck of the draw it was our weekly meeting night and we were able to respond with four, fully manned, brush trucks.
Shortly after 5pm Jim Ned VFD personnel were dispatched to a fire near the east end of CR 154, Tuscola. Upon arrival the fire had spread from a work area into a grove of cedar trees. The fire was extinguished within an hour.
Shortly after 8:00 pm this morning Jim Ned VFD was dispatched to a vehicle fire on N/B Hwy 84 north of the Y. Luckily the fire did not spread to the adjacent field and was brought under control in a relatively short period of time.
JNVFD along with Moro, Lawn, and Windgate VFD's assisted Winters VFD with a structure and grass fire in Runnels County on Hwy 83 south of the Taylor County line.
