Shortly after 5pm Jim Ned VFD personnel were dispatched to a fire near the east end of CR 154, Tuscola. Upon arrival the fire had spread from a work area into a grove of cedar trees. The fire was extinguished within an hour.
Shortly after 8:00 pm this morning Jim Ned VFD was dispatched to a vehicle fire on N/B Hwy 84 north of the Y. Luckily the fire did not spread to the adjacent field and was brought under control in a relatively short period of time.
JNVFD along with Moro, Lawn, and Windgate VFD's assisted Winters VFD with a structure and grass fire in Runnels County on Hwy 83 south of the Taylor County line.
Through the kindness of a local resident, members of Jim Ned, Buffalo Gap, Moro, Trent, and Potosi volunteer fire departments were offered the opportunity to obtain some hands on fire training.BEFORE DURING During AFTER
Units from Jim Ned VFD, Taylor County Sheriff's Office, and the Texas Highway Patrol were dispatched to a vehicle accident at the "Y" involving an SUV and an 18 wheeler. Occupants of both vehicles were uninjured, but certainly shook up.
